Intensive Literacy Lessons

We have begun Intensive Literacy lessons with Miss Linnane, Miss Kearney, Mrs Daly and Miss Flaherty. Each day from 11.30am to 12.30pm we work together in groups and we do various literacy activities (phonics, reading and writing). We are really enjoying these activities and love getting a new and interesting book each day to read in class and at home. Our class wants to say a big THANK YOU to all the teachers involved.

Letters from Icarus

Making words

Each group had to make as many words as possible using the letters they were given.

This was a fun game. 

We made lots of words.

Vampire names

Our letter of the week this week was v.We discovered that if we put v at the start of our names ,they sound like vampire names.So we wrote our vampire names and drew pictures to go with them!

Writing in sand

Today we practiced our writing in the sand at the beach.

Visiting the book fair

The Book Fair has arrived in our school this week.

We went to the halla today to visit the fair.

We browsed through lots of fun and interesting books.

We might even like to buy a few.

Our dragon "Messy"

We heard a lovely story about "The Lonely Dragon".
We drew our dragon, did some drama based on our story and made a Voki avatar about our dragon.
We will probably do some artwork based on our dragon story too.
