Word families
We are getting very good at sounding out words and at recognising word families. We use the 'Say, cover, write and check' method, when we are writing out our word families each day. First we say the word (or sound it out if we do not recognise it). Then we cover the word and next we try to sound it out in our heads and write it from memory. Lastly, we check our word to make sure that we have written it correctly.
Sequencing the story of Cinderella using pictures
We recently read the a quirky version of the fairy tale Cinderella. As well as re-telling the story orally, we also sequenced the events using pictures. Once we knew the story well, this was no problem for us!!
The Elves and the Shoemaker
We heard the story of the Elves and the Shoemaker. We loved the story.
We put the story into sequence.
You can see the story in these videos.
