Our dragon "Messy"

We heard a lovely story about "The Lonely Dragon".
We drew our dragon, did some drama based on our story and made a Voki avatar about our dragon.
We will probably do some artwork based on our dragon story too.

Books we are reading

Look at the great books we read in class today.

We read Patrick's Perfect Pancake in honour of Pancake Tuesday yesterday

and we read Over in the Meadow and Monkey Puzzle because they fit in well with our theme of "Spring"

We even sang the words to Over in the Meadow as we read the 3 different versions that teacher has.

We have been learning all about Anne Frank. We imagined what it would have been like for her and wrote our own diary entries.

Opening of our school library

This week, we gathered in the hall for the opening of our school library

A very special visitor came to open it - the Mayor of Galway!!!

She spoke to us and told us how important it is to read. Then we watched as she cut the ribbon to open the library!

Letter of the week Ff

Ff is our letter of the week.  We are getting lots of opportunities to practice writing the letter f.

For the small letter f we have to remember to send the fireman into his fire with his helmet on first!

The big letter F doesn't need his helmet on first since he is the fire organiser rather than the fireman out at the fire.
